Skinnerbox & Elle P. - "The PV Sessions"

A1) Tricks (07:10)

B1) Turteltaube (09:09)

B2) Anja (07:32)

This Israeli/German Minimal Techno House duo is about to change a certain point of view. Skinnerbox skillfully improvise most parts of their jazz-like flavored music as a working flow between Iftah Gabbai (responsible for Beats & Basses) and Olaf Hilgenfeld (playing analogue Moog synthesizers).

Their latest works came out from sessions they did together with Mademoiselle Elle_P (musician and singer from Berlin). The tracks they recorded do not remind being mostly improvised. They all breathe a vivid grooviness, are full of musical experiences flavored with vocal lines and snippets. Tricks on side A perfectly walks on a sub-&hum-bass, driving the entire track packed with tunes that reel up excitingly. Turteltaube and Anja on side B play cheeky with our today’s Techno behavior, but do not lose musical deepness. They are funky, raw, and playful, but always under control to keep on minimizing.

As these Techno Hillbillies are unique in their kind of performance, Skinnerbox have been – after appreciated supports by Berlin’s Bar 25 and Bachstelzen – now recognized outside correspondingly, too. So, they have been extensively playing thruout Europe.
